Tango cuts 20 hours of incentive operations work a month with Tremendous

"When I hit send, I know that reward is going out and they're going to get it. Reliability is probably the number one benefit besides ease of use." – Collin Evans, Head of Revenue Marketing at Tango

Since switching to Tremendous, Tango cuts 20 hours of incentive operations work a month

Highlights

  • Tango is a product documentation tool that helps teams capture and share step-by-step workflow guides.

  • Two teams use Tremendous independently: Collin runs a tiered G2 review incentive program, and Annie manages payments for 60+ influencers across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.

  • Before Tremendous, both teams were managing incentive payments manually. They reconciled platform fees, tracked reimbursements, and spent hours each week on back-and-forth with recipients.

  • After switching to Tremendous, both teams cut admin overhead significantly, with one team saving 20 hours a month on program operations.

The challenge

Tango builds B2B software that helps teams document their workflows, capturing processes step by step so anyone can follow along. With a lean team of ~35 people, efficiency is key. Two separate marketing leaders independently landed on Tremendous to manage their respective incentive programs.

Collin Evans, Head of Revenue Marketing, manages the monetization side of Tango's product-led growth motion, which includes running a G2 review program to build social proof with enterprise buyers. Rather than using G2's built-in campaign tools, Collin wanted more control: a guaranteed reward for every reviewer, not a first-come-first-served pool that left people wondering if they'd even qualify. As a one-person team, every step in that process had to be fast and repeatable. He needed a platform that was easy to use solo, worked reliably for international recipients, and didn't require a developer to manage.

Meanwhile, Annie Ng, Head of Brand Marketing, was running a different kind of program entirely. Tango's influencer marketing program spans TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, with over 60 active global creator partnerships at any given time.

In the early days, the team processed influencer payments through PayPal. As the program grew, so did operational complexity. Reconciling platform fees across multiple countries, chasing down screenshots of what was actually deducted, and manually calculating reimbursements so every creator received their contracted rate added up fast.

"You think one payment is costing you this much time, but it's way more because of all the communications that happen after," Annie said. "There's a lot of back and forth where the actual work just isn't getting done."

At the time, Annie estimated that payment operations, including the back and forth before and after each payout, consumed at least five hours of her time every week. That wasn’t sustainable for a small team running a global influencer program.

The solution

Collin was looking for a faster, simpler way to send review incentives domestically and internationally, and Tremendous was the perfect fit. The setup was quick: fund, configure two reward tiers, and start sending.

Annie found Tremendous looking to streamline a growing global payment operation and build something more scalable. Her team set up a custom payment workflow inside Airtable, using Make.com automations and the Tremendous API to connect everything together.

When an influencer's post goes live and the contract details are confirmed, a button in Airtable triggers the payout directly. That means no more tab switching, manual data entry, or platform fees passed onto creators. The whole setup took about a day on the Tremendous side, without adding headcount or reworking existing processes.

Tango's main benefits since switching to Tremendous

Tremendous benefits for Tango

Reliable delivery, every time

For Collin's G2 program, the primary value is simple: send a reward and know it gets to the right person quickly. Tango uses two reward tiers to source reviews from the customer segments that matter most for G2 category badges. Over two years of running the program, delivery issues have been rare. The tiered approach has definitely paid off. Tango has since earned G2 badges for Best Estimated ROI, Highest User Adoption, Fastest Implementation, and Easiest Setup.

"I've sent a lot of these gift cards out over the years, and I very rarely get an email from someone saying they didn't receive it," Collin said. "Reliability, that's the number one thing."

Automated influencer payments at scale

Tango’s influencer partners post daily across multiple platforms. Before Tremendous, processing each payment meant leaving the workflow, navigating to a payment platform, calculating fees, and following up on discrepancies. Now, that process is simplified to one click in Airtable.

"Payments used to take up hours of my week," Annie said. "Building Tremendous into our workflow eliminated all of that."

The team estimates they've reduced admin time from roughly 20 hours a month to about 45 minutes per month.

International reach without the friction

Both programs have a global footprint. Collin's review requests go out to Tango users in Australia, Europe, and beyond. Annie's influencer roster spans the U.S., Canada, the UK, Australia, and India, with creators occasionally relocating mid-contract.

With Tremendous, both teams can easily reach international recipients without managing separate tools or workflows for different regions. Recipients choose their preferred local payout method, and Tango absorbs any transaction fees, which Annie has found makes a meaningful difference in how creators experience the partnership.

"We tell creators upfront that we're absorbing any fees, not them. They prefer that. And unlike other platforms where a bank transfer takes weeks or they don't see funds until 30 days after they post, Tremendous is immediate.”

Simple enough for anyone on the team

At a ~35-person company, incentives can’t be someone's full-time job. Both Collin and Annie run their respective programs as one small piece of much broader roles. Tremendous is intuitive enough that Collin can hand off the Tremendous account to any team member when a partnership gift card needs to go out, no training required.

That simplicity also showed during setup. Annie had the Airtable integration up and running without dedicated engineering resources or a lengthy implementation process.

The impact

Tremendous powers two distinct programs at Tango: a G2 review campaign that builds social proof with enterprise buyers, and a global influencer payment operation that drives brand awareness and self-serve signups. Different owners, different workflows, different goals, but both running reliably in the background with minimal admin overhead.

Collin's review program has been running for two years with minimal maintenance. Eligible users receive a reward invitation at a key product milestone, with a follow-up if they don't act on the first. Collin does a quick verification before issuing each reward, but the actual send takes less than a minute. Since launching the program, Tango has generated over 490 G2 reviews, a roughly 5x increase in monthly review volume. Over two years, the time saved on reward sends alone adds up to more than 60 hours.

Annie's program has scaled from a handful of influencers to a steady roster of 60+ creators, processing a minimum of $20,000 per month through Tremendous. What used to take five or more hours per week now takes under an hour, freeing up the team to focus on creator relationships, content strategy, and channel expansion rather than payment operations.

  • $850K+ in influencer payouts distributed since 2023

  • 496 G2 reviews generated since launch

  • 5X increase in monthly G2 review volume

  • ~20 hours saved per month on influencer payment operations

  • 60+ active creator relationships managed by a two-person team

  • $20K+ in influencer payments processed monthly

  • Global payments delivered across 5+ countries

“We don't want payments to feel transactional. Building longer-term relationships with our influencers matters, and reducing the friction around how they get paid is part of that.”
